I don’t really have any excuses for the lack of recent posting other than the fact that your boy has been busy as hell. I’m working on 4 releases simultaneously in addition to my regular duties as a hungry Dj.
On the plus side, some of the projects are finally coming out. Namely: The “Taste Test Ep” came out today on Spring Strut Recordings(http://soundcloud.com/spring-strut-rec). This is a big deal for me. The weight of the promotion done by my label-head, Danny Massure(http://soundcloud.com/danny-massure), has already gotten me radio play across the globe and helped me connect with an astonishing variety new producers, Dj’s, and radio hosts.
Much love also has to go out to my collaborators Dave Owen(http://soundcloud.com/dave-owen) & Johnny Butter, as well as to my remixers Al Pack(http://soundcloud.com/al-pack), Daytoner(http://soundcloud.com/daytoner), & Dj Farrapo(http://soundcloud.com/dj-farrapo). Everyone involved has been great. Keep an ear out for my next Spring Strut release in May.

It’s been way too long since my last post but the kid has been busy. I recently recorded a mix that pays tribute to my favorite style of music: Breakbeats. In particular, these Breaks are the kind that I spin for Breakers during cyphers.. hence the name.
It’s about 70 minutes of Nu-Funk ending in some distinctly Latin flavors. I hope you all enjoy.
New Dj set that I made for Voir Art de Fletcher. The goal was to make a sexy and sophisticated mix full of nice lounge. You can stream it here:
Time to switch gears and bring a cool breeze from the motherland. Helder Faradai is the Dj/Producer behind the smooth Jazzy vibes of Jazzmatica. A native to Angola, he combines Afro-Portuguese warmth to Jazzy Hip-Hop styles to create an overall feel that is fresh and unique. I don’t know if he’s done any formal releases yet but if he does… it will shake shit up.
Jazzmática-Beira Mar ft Fuji e Rossana Raposo(2006 track) by Jazzmática
Dj Shadow is one of my biggest heroes in regards to music. His sampling technique, compositions, and ability to tell stories without having to lean on a rapper.
With this song, I did a tribute to one of his most famous songs but… instead of sampling it or doing a remix, I decide to rewrite the classic melodies and add a little flavor of improvisation to create a Jazzy feel.
It was more of tune I did for fun than anything designed for a specific release so I figured I’d just give it away.
